Westportbreast cancer survivor Neva Weber, 41, offered words of encouragement today to participants in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event at Sherwood Island State Park. Weber was diagnosed with the disease 18 months ago. Her Westport Babes supporters had 70 walkers participating today and had raised almost $19,000 as of Saturday. The 70 walkers included 10 survivors, three of whom are parents of students at Long Lots Elementary School. Weber has a second grader at Long Lots as well as a preschooler. Temple Israel was well represented.
